Arsenal, missing center backs William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães, fell behind from a Reece James corner finished by Trevoh Chalobah before Merino equalized in the 59th minute. Neither side found a winner, and Manchester City's earlier victory left City second in the table while Chelsea dropped to third.
