Manager Thomas Tuchel said Bellingham is an important player and intends to speak with squad members who were not in camp. Tuchel stated the omission is not a punishment and that many players remain eager to return. Tuchel apologised for a previous mistaken remark and insisted there is no issue between him and Bellingham. Several notable absentees were named as deserving of selection.
