Edson Álvarez has completed a loan move from West Ham to Fenerbahçe for the 2025–26 season, with the Turkish club holding an option to make the deal permanent next summer. He joined West Ham ahead of the 2023–24 campaign and made 73 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing three assists. Álvarez enjoyed a strong summer with the Mexico national team, winning Player of the Tournament as Mexico won the Gold Cup and scoring the winning goal against the United States in the final. The former Ajax midfielder will be coached by José Mourinho at Fenerbahçe and has expressed excitement to meet the fans and contribute on the field.
