AS Roma are reportedly preparing a January swoop for Joshua Zirkzee, with the Manchester United striker emerging as a loan target to bolster the Giallorossi's forward line. Roma view the 24-year-old as a high-upside option who can add mobility, link play, and goals during the second half of the season, according to The Sun. Zirkzee, who has yet to start a competitive match for United this term,
Zirkzee is starting to get worried about his World Cup chances; game time is limited, Benjamin Sesko has arrived, Matheus Cunha can also play as a nine, and so Zirkzee, like Kobbie Mainoo, could now ask for a loan move to get minutes with the World Cup in mind. For January, keep an eye on PSV, because I'm told that they're open to a loan deal.
Sunderland feel that the 21-year-old Nigerian striker is unlikely to receive regular Premier League minutes this season. His talent was evident during pre-season, and Sunderland are keen for him to gain valuable playing time elsewhere. Ahmed Abdullahi needs to leave Sitting on the bench at the Premier League club will not benefit him. Going out on loan could be ideal for the young attacker.
Motherwell have signed "comfortable and reliable" centre-half Stephen Welsh on a season-long loan from Scottish Premiership rivals Celtic. The 25-year-old has played 68 games for Celtic since coming through the Scottish champions' youth system but has not featured this season for Brendan Rodgers' side. He spent the second half of last season on loan to Mechelen as they finished eighth in the Belgian Pro League, playing 17 games, starting all but two of them.
West Ham United have signed of Brazil defender Igor Julio on a season-long loan from fellow Premier League club Brighton. The 27-year-old centre-back has made 37 league appearances for Brighton since joining from Fiorentina for 14.5m in 2023, but has been limited to just one Carabao Cup appearance this season. Crystal Palace had considered signing him earlier on deadline day as they looked to replace Liverpool-bound Marc Guehi, but the Eagles pulled the plug on that move when Igor opted to move to West Ham.

The 19-year-old has been part of the Premier League club's academy since the age of eight and he has played eight matches for their under-21 side in the EFL Trophy over recent seasons. Samuel was also part of the side that won the under-18s Premier League title in 2023.

Bournemouth midfielder Ben Winterburn has joined League Two side Barnet on a season-long loan. The 20-year-old has made seven appearances for the Cherries and came off the bench in their opening-night defeat at Liverpool in the Premier League. Winterburn made his debut for Bournemouth in a 2-2 draw at Fulham in December. Both his starts came in last season's FA Cup, in Bournemouth's 5-1 win over West Bromwich Albion and their 2-0 victory at Everton in the fourth round.
