Brother Kevin passed away at 90 years old and was the founder of the Capuchin Day Centre in Dublin, established in 1969 to support homeless individuals. Under his leadership, the centre developed various services, including providing two hot meals daily, food parcels, and additional resources like showers and medical aid. It serves over 1,000 meals per day and has been a place of refuge for many. Brother Kevin received the Freedom of the City of Dublin in 2015 and passed away in Cork in 2023, with a funeral attended by many dignitaries and supporters of his work.
Throughout his 55-year ministry, Brother Kevin dedicated himself to the needs of the homeless, overseeing the Capuchin Day Centre’s expansion to provide essential services.
The centre serves over 1,000 hot breakfasts and dinners daily, offering meals, food parcels, clothing, showers, and medical assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness.
Recognized for his efforts, Brother Kevin was honored with the Freedom of the City of Dublin in 2015, and he welcomed Pope Francis to the centre in 2018.
His funeral drew significant attendance, reflecting his impact and gratitude towards those who supported his mission and the community he fostered.
