A study reveals that 96% of children in Gaza feel their death is imminent, and around half desire to die due to severe trauma from ongoing conflict.
Helen Pattinson, chief executive of War Child UK, emphasized that "Gaza is one of the most horrifying places in the world to be a child." This reflects the extreme psychological impact on the children from the violence.
The survey conducted by Community Training Centre for Crisis Management found that 79% of children suffer from nightmares, showing the deep psychological distress inflicted by war.
With a staggering 44% of verified fatalities being children, the psychological toll extends beyond immediate physical threats, leading to stress symptoms like anxiety, fear, and social withdrawal.
