Since its 2018 launch, Olipop has emerged as a leading nonalcoholic beverage brand, achieving impressive milestones with a $50 million Series C funding and a valuation of $1.85 billion. Last year, the company reported revenue exceeding $400 million, claiming to outpace established brands like Coca-Cola and Dr. Pepper in growth. Co-founder Ben Goodwin, known for his unique approach to flavor formulation, reflects on how he still engages deeply in the process despite the brand's explosive growth and wide market reach.
"People would be shocked. Established flavor chemists, if they walked into my little laundry room lab, their heads would explode," he says with a laugh.
"I have my own kind of differentiated way that I approach formulation. And from there, it's all about my nose and it's about my senses and my vision for the formula."
