CoLaunchly is a marketing tool designed for developers who struggle with effective app promotion. The creator built the MVP within 1-2 weeks using various modern technologies. Launching on Product Hunt garnered significant attention, achieving #4 Product of the Day and #2 Marketing Product of the Week, leading to over 300 users and $100+ in revenue. However, engagement dwindled after initial sign-ups; users failed to return or engage long-term, highlighting the challenges of sustaining user interest after launch.
The 'aha' moment? I realised I'm not the only dev who sucks at marketing. We build cool apps. Then they just sit there. No launch. No reach. No traction.
I built the MVP solo. Took about 1-2 weeks. Full-stack. Next.js 15, Tailwind 4, Drizzle ORM, Neon DB, OpenAI, Kinde auth, Resend, Stripe you name it.
Let me be honest I didn't really have a launch strategy. I posted everywhere. Even got a little spammy (sorry internet). But it worked.
After a couple of months, the signs were clear. People signed up. Played around. And then... nothing. No returning users. No community. Crickets.
