Google Quick Share upgrade makes it easier to share files
Briefly

In its February 2025 update for Google Play Services, Google has significantly enhanced its Quick Share feature, allowing users to share files without requiring a constant direct connection via Wi-Fi Direct or Bluetooth. Now, if that direct connection is lost, transfers can continue over Wi-Fi or mobile data as long as both devices remain connected to the internet. This upgrade facilitates sharing larger files since users no longer need to remain next to the receiving device throughout the transfer process, thereby rivaling Apple's AirDrop and Samsung Quick Share functionalities in convenience.
Google's Quick Share feature will now allow file transfers to "continue" over Wi-Fi or mobile data, enhancing convenience and reliability.
With the new update, file transfers no longer require a direct connection, making it much easier to share large files without proximity constraints.
