Glassdoor recently released its list of the best internships, primarily featuring roles in the tech sector, with notable mentions from consulting and biotech. Daniel Zhao, Glassdoor's lead economist, highlighted that these sectors typically offer strong career advancement and competitive compensation, making them desirable for interns. The report noted that with a cooling job market, larger, more stable companies have become increasingly attractive for internship seekers, as they provide more job security compared to smaller, fluctuating firms. The ranking showcases established companies that lead their respective industries.
"These are really industries that offer high career growth as well as good pay, so it's no surprise that these are very attractive employers for interns," Daniel Zhao, lead economist at Glassdoor, told BI.
"As the job market cools, there is more appeal to companies where there might be more job security," Zhao said. "These are larger companies that not only offer good career growth, but are also perhaps more stable than some of the smaller companies that are more volatile year to year."
