Microsoft's mid-generation plans for the Xbox Series S and X consoles included a detailed roadmap for a spruced up Series S, an overhauled Series X, a redesigned controller, and a streaming-only version named Keystone to connect to Xbox Cloud Gaming servers.
The Keystone console was fully designed and functional but wasn't launched due to pricing challenges compared to the $299 Series S, causing issues in bringing the price down low enough.
The Keystone design patent document revealed a design strongly reminiscent of the Series S, square-shaped, smaller than Series S, with a similar white boxy design and front-mounted Xbox button and USB port.
