Charter's Spectrum Enhances Video Self-Service Functions
Briefly

Charter Spectrum is launching digital video self-service tools that let customers upgrade free ad-supported streaming to paid ad-free versions through the My Spectrum App or Spectrum.net. Customers will pay only the retail price difference, typically $3 to $10 per month. Eligible services include AMC+, Disney+ Basic, HBO Max Basic With Ads, Paramount+ Essential, ViX Premium With Ads, and Peacock Premium With Ads, with Hulu and ESPN planned soon. Spectrum internet-only customers can add streaming apps à la carte at spectrum.net via the TV/Streaming tab and select upgrade, billing, and payment options. Spectrum previously implemented price reductions, service guarantees, no annual contracts, and multi-year price locks with new bundled internet pricing.
Charter Spectrum aims to enhance customer experience and drive satisfaction with the introduction of digital video self-service tools on its brand telecommunications services. The digital tools will enable customers to upgrade from free "with ads" to paid "without ads" versions of its video streaming services via the My Spectrum App or Spectrum.net. Customers will pay only the retail price difference between the two iterations of the services they choose, which range from $3 to $10 per month.
Subscribers who now receive programming with ads will be able to upgrade to services including AMC+ with Ads, Disney+ Basic, HBO Max Basic With Ads, Paramount+ Essential, ViX Premium With Ads, and Peacock Premium With Ads. The option will soon be available for Hulu (With Ads) and ESPN's forthcoming streaming service, Charter says. Spectrum internet-only customers will be able to add video streaming apps on an à la carte basis at spectrum.net. They will navigate to the services link, select the "TV/Streaming" tab, click on the desired apps and follow the prompts to choose preferred upgrade, billing option and payment methods.
