"All of a sudden, I'm looking at this world from a very different perspective, and as something on a screen in which I am an avatar in. I don't believe that I'm an avatar. I believe The Ghoul exists in the world. I believe that Cooper Howard exists in the world, The best way that I can serve this world and serve the fans of this game, I think, is to go to work every single day and believe the circumstances that I'm presented with."
"I feel like I get this really uniquely particular opportunity to be within the world of the game, like the Disney World version of it, where it's life-like and built out in front of me. But I'm still gonna wait. I'm gonna wait till I'm done,"
"a really fun and exciting experience"
Walton Goggins has never played the Fallout games and insists he will not, citing a desire to avoid viewing his character as an avatar and to maintain full belief in The Ghoul and Cooper Howard as real within the show's world. Goggins believes the best way to serve the world and its fans is to commit to the circumstances presented on set each day. Aaron Moten also has not played the games and will wait until his work on the show is finished before considering them. Ella Purnell played Fallout 4 for Season 1, found it enjoyable, avoided New Vegas for Season 2 research, and plans to play it after Season 2 releases.
