"2026 marks a transformative new era for Formula 1, from new teams to new regulations and cars with the best drivers in the world, and we look forward to delivering premium and innovative fan-first coverage to our customers in a way that only Apple can," Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of services, said in a statement."
"We have a shared vision to bring this amazing sport to our fans in the U.S. and entice new fans through live broadcasts, engaging content, and a year-round approach to keep them hooked," Domenicali said in a statement."
Apple TV will exclusively stream Formula 1 races in the U.S. next year under a five-year rights deal. Subscribers will receive access to practice, qualifying, Sprint sessions, Grands Prix footage, and F1 TV Premium. Some races and practice sessions may be available for free on the Apple TV app. The Apple Sports app will provide live updates and real-time leaderboards for each Grand Prix. The deal was reportedly worth about $140 million per year versus ESPN's roughly $85 million average. Formula 1 previously collaborated with Apple on the film F1 The Movie starring Brad Pitt. The partnership is intended to expand U.S. growth and deliver year-round fan engagement.
