Patrick Brown has agreed to appear before the House committee investigating foreign interference, despite expressing doubts about the usefulness of his testimony.
In his statement, Brown mentioned, 'I have no new evidence to contribute to the committee's proceedings and am concerned that my appearance has been sought for political reasons.'
Brown criticized the decision to summon him, suggesting that the ongoing public inquiry, led by Commissioner Marie-Josee Hogue, would have been a better forum for addressing these issues.
A report by NSICOP noted 'India's alleged interference in a Conservative Party of Canada leadership race,' highlighting the seriousness of the allegations but also indicating ambiguity in how it was communicated to the party.
