Jays SS Bichette (knee) says he'll return for WS
"I'll be ready"
"significant progress"
"This is a dream for me to be playing in these games,"
"But I mean this group is just so, so easy to root for ... They played amazing."
Bo Bichette, 27, has missed Toronto's entire postseason after suffering a knee injury in a Sept. 6 collision at home plate against the New York Yankees. Bichette has not played since the injury but expressed confidence in returning, saying "I'll be ready" when asked about joining the team for the World Series. Manager John Schneider said Bichette had made "significant progress" toward returning to the lineup ahead of Game 7 of the ALCS. Bichette batted .311 with 18 home runs, 94 RBIs and an .840 OPS in 139 games, while ranking poorly defensively among major league shortstops. Toronto will host the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the World Series on Friday.
