An alleged robbery and assault occurred on Danforth Avenue near Pape Avenue at about 7:15 a.m. on Aug. 27. A man riding an e-bike eastbound was stopped by a white Acura sedan whose occupant demanded the e-bike, pushed the rider off, then "assaulted the victim several times" before taking the bike and fleeing. The rider sustained minor injuries. Police describe the suspect as a white man about 5'7" to 5'9" with a thin to medium build. The suspect was last seen wearing black jeans, a black hoodie with white lettering, a black balaclava, and black-and-white shoes. Police are asking the public to help identify the suspect.
Toronto police are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect they allege assaulted an e-bike rider before taking off with the bike. Police say the alleged robbery took place last Wednesday, Aug. 27, around 7:15 a.m. along Danforth Avenue, shortly before Pape Avenue. According to a news release Monday, police say a man was on an e-bike heading east when he was stopped by a white Acura sedan.
The suspect demanded the e-bike, proceeded to push the victim off the e-bike, then "assaulted the victim several times" before getting on the e-bike and leaving, according to police. The victim was minorly injured as a result, police say. Police say the suspect is a white man between five feet seven inches and five feet nine inches. They say he has a thin to medium build and was last seen dressed in black and white: black jeans, black hoodie with white lettering, black balaclava, and black and white shoes.
