"Police have arrested a driver who allegedly removed his licence plate and hid it in the trunk of the vehicle before he fled a fatal hit and run in Mississauga. Santosh Kumar Patra, 56, of Mississauga was killed in the collision on Friday around 9 p.m., police said in the release Wednesday. According to police, a Mini Cooper struck and killed Patra at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue W. and Fallingbrook Drive."
"Investigators canvassed the area after the collision and found CCTV video that shows a man removing the rear licence plate of his vehicle and concealing it in the trunk before fleeing. The driver has been charged with failure to stop at scene of accident resulting in death. His first court appearance is set for Dec. 22 in Brampton."

A 46-year-old Mississauga man was arrested Tuesday after an intensive investigation and charged with failure to stop at scene of accident resulting in death. His first court appearance is set for Dec. 22 in Brampton. Police say information from the public helped identify the driver and urge anyone with information or witnesses to come forward.
