Despite steering the team to mid-table safety last season, Adkins' losing record this season—34 losses in 72 games—proves too much for Tranmere's ambitions.
After acknowledging the disappointing league position, Palios emphasized the need for a change of manager, believing it is best for the remaining games ahead.
Adkins, who returned to his hometown club in July 2023, struggled to replicate previous successes, winning only six out of 34 league games this season.
