This underrated European country will soon launch a digital nomad visa - with stays up to two years
"Moldova has just announced a brand-new offering of residency permits to remote workers. Those who acquire one will be able to live in the country for up to two years (with the potential to extend later on to up to five years), and compared to other European nomad visas, the income requirements are pretty low at just US$1,500-2,000 per month (that's approximately €1,290-1,700)."
"Across Europe, a long list of countries are already offering digital nomad visas, but one lesser-known, often overlooked spot in the east of the continent has just joined the bandwagon. The country in question? It's Moldova. The nation, which sits between Romania and Ukraine, is one of the least visited in Europe, but is well worth venturing to if you're interested in Soviet-era history, or are a lover of wine (the Moldovan Mileștii Mici has one of the largest wine collections in the world)."
Moldova launched a digital nomad residency permit allowing remote workers to live in the country for up to two years, with possible extension to five years. The income requirement is US$1,500–2,000 per month (about €1,290–1,700). Foreign nationals working remotely for overseas employers or clients, including business owners, employees and freelancers, are eligible. Successful applicants receive temporary residence and work permits and must register locally with migration police, where an identity card may be issued. Applications are expected to be handled by the Bureau of Migration and Asylum. Applicants must provide a passport, photos, employment contracts and proof of accommodation; processing fees are thought to be €40–80.
