Clement Cases' typeface Base Pixel slowly turns to "trash"
Briefly

Designer Clement's typeface Base Pixel incorporates ancient Roman typography into a playful, modern pixel font. The typeface transitions through five weights, revealing hidden structures and abstract forms. The 'trash' weight features deformed pixels, showcasing a unique balance between traditional and contemporary design. The project challenged Clement to push variable font technology, manipulating interpolations for fluid resolution changes. Available for only 80 days, Base Pixel exemplifies a dialogue between digital and ancient art, enriched with unique triangular serifs and inspired by historical letterforms.

Mixing references that aren't obviously mixable interests me; contrasts of time and reference are something I like to use in my work.
