British Airways faced a substantial fine of over £3.2 million after two of its luggage handlers were seriously injured due to unsafe working conditions at Heathrow Airport. Both incidents involved the use of televators that lacked proper safety features such as guardrails. The Health and Safety Executive's prosecution revealed that Ravinder Teji and Shahjahan Malik suffered severe injuries, with Malik having a bleed on the brain and multiple fractures. The airline previously admitted to safety breaches and has since made adjustments to facilitate the workers' return to roles.
