"He did not really pose any danger to you at that time, quite the opposite, it made him vulnerable to attack by you," she said."
"Moussa had told the court he did not like Mr Clarke turning his baseball hat backwards as Mr Clarke "did not have permission" to do so. Recorda Davey-Ann Clarke, 35, was stabbed and later died after an altercation in Willesden Green on 28 December 2024. Elyas Moussa, 30, was convicted of murder after a two-week trial and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 27 years. The confrontation began after Mr Clarke turned Moussa's baseball cap backwards, prompting a dispute and bottles being thrown. Moussa left but returned, chased Mr Clarke, produced a knife and attacked when Mr Clarke was on the ground. Moussa initially fled, later called 999 from a phone box to hand himself in. Mr Clarke worked as a gardener at Kensington Palace and was father to two children; his partner Lori-Jane Forrest described their lives as destroyed and their home torn apart.
