A peer and reality television personality has appeared in court accused of raping a woman. Lord Charles Brocket, who finished fourth on the 2004 series of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!, was arrested on Friday. The 73-year-old appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday. He is accused of two counts of rape in London on August 10 and one count of sexual assault by penetration in the village of Warbleton, East Sussex, on May 5.
Brocket was not asked to enter pleas to any of the charges, which can only be tried at the crown court, but it was heard he denies the allegations. District judge Louisa Cieciora granted him bail with conditions, including a GPS tag-monitored exclusion from coming within the M25. She said Brocket, who was represented by Henry Milner, must attend Isleworth Crown Court on September 26.
