The Australian Federal Police stated that the man's actions could have resulted in dire consequences, emphasizing that dangerous behavior on flights will not be tolerated.
Det Acting Supt Davina Copelin affirmed the commitment to prioritize safety, stating, 'Passengers and airplane staff shouldn't have to put up with unruly, violent or dangerous behaviour on flights.'
The man, Shadi Taiseer Alsaaydeh, has been charged with two counts of endangering aircraft safety and one count of assault, each with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
