
"Detectives from Met Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted rape in Islington. Officers were called to Gillespie Park just before 7pm on Tuesday following reports of an attempted rape. A woman was walking through the park when she was approached by an unknown man hovering near some bushes, who then attempted to rape her, police said. The woman fled the scene and told officers that a separate unknown man chased the attacker."
"Police believe this man may be a potential witness and want to speak to him as part of their investigation. Detective Chief Inspector Paul Ridley said: This was an attack targeting a lone female in an open park space. We'd like to reassure the public that we are working at pace to try and find this suspect. We'd really like to speak to the man who chased after the suspect, as he may have some crucial details to help us identify him."
