Emma Raducanu split with coach Francis Roig following a straight-sets second-round loss to Anastasia Potapova at the Australian Open. Roig began working with Raducanu in August and previously helped Rafael Nadal win 16 major titles. Raducanu thanked Roig on Instagram, calling him more than a coach and expressing gratitude despite a mutual decision to part ways. She described a desire to return to a more aggressive, corner-hitting style and to play more like she did when younger. Sources confirmed rumours of friction between player and coach. Raducanu will next play the Transylvania Open and must find a new coach.
