Teen drove at more than 180kmh during garda pursuit, court told

"The 19-year-old, who cannot be named because he was a juvenile when he was charged, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to two charges of endangerment, possession of stolen power tools, dangerous driving, having no insurance and no driving licence on July 30, 2023."

A teenager, now 19 years old, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to charges stemming from a high-speed pursuit with gardaí in the Ballymun and Naul Road area of Dublin. The charges included two counts of endangerment, possession of stolen power tools, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, and driving without a valid licence. During the pursuit, gardaí reached speeds of 180kmh in an unsuccessful attempt to close the gap on the suspect vehicle. The defendant was remanded on bail pending sentencing following his guilty plea on July 30, 2023. He cannot be publicly identified due to being a juvenile at the time of charging.
