Police were called at about 19:15 BST on Monday to reports of a large gathering, disorder, and people with machetes in Towpath Walk in Hackney Wick. Officers and paramedics found Brayan David Saldarriaga, from Haringey in north London, with stab wounds in nearby Poplar Close, where he was pronounced dead. A 16-year-old cannot be named due to age and was charged with possession of a bladed article. The 16-year-old will appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on Saturday. Brayan’s next-of-kin are supported by specialist officers, and the Metropolitan Police asked for information about the incident.
