I've never engaged in nonconsensual activity. I pray that you can see that by looking in my eyes."
British prosecutors brought two new counts against Russell Brand — one count of rape and one count of sexual assault — alleging offences in 2009 against two further women. Brand had already been charged in April with two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault arising from alleged offences between 1999 and 2005 in Bournemouth and London. Those earlier charges followed an 18-month investigation after four women alleged assaults. Brand pleaded not guilty and is due at Westminster Magistrates' Court on January 20 for the new charges. A trial is set to begin June 16 and last four to five weeks. The women continue to receive support.
