'We are heartbroken' - priest's tribute as two teenagers who drowned in Donegal are named locally
Briefly

On Saturday afternoon, three boys aged 16 to 19 encountered trouble while swimming in Buncrana, resulting in a tragedy. Emmanuel Familola, 16, and Matt Sibanda, 18, drowned, while a third boy is hospitalized. All three were international protection applicants living locally. After a coordinated rescue effort, one boy managed to reach shore, but sadly, the others did not survive. The incident has left the community in deep sorrow, prompting prayers from local clergy and plans for community support for the affected families.
We are conscious of having lost two of our new parishioners overnight. We are heartbroken at their loss but we pray for them and for their families.
It is not what we look for on a lovely summer's evening after such a wonderful day in the midst of beautiful weather, it is now tinged with bewilderment and heartbreak.
