Russell Watts, a 63-year-old man from South Yorkshire known for his dreadlocks, was discovered dead in his hotel room at the Hotel Catalonia Punta Del Rey in Tenerife's Candelaria area. Following his death, South Yorkshire Police launched a murder investigation and arrested a 56-year-old woman from the Rotherham area on suspicion of murder. Watts was a well-liked figure in the Thrybergh community, described by friends and local establishments as intelligent, energetic, and beloved. Detective Chief Inspector Ben Wood stated the investigation remains in early stages with extensive enquiries ongoing. Police are appealing for witnesses who stayed at the hotel or observed suspicious activity to provide information.
