Now, the black hole is £34bn so taxes are going up again. People work hard to make their lives better and all she's doing is coming back for more and more tax."
"The country is in crisis. There are many ways to get out of this, by making people better off, curbing the amount of overspend. I feel she and the government are totally out of their depth."
"It's the worst Budget I've ever heard - and I'm 73, so I have been around for quite a few. This Budget is there to help people that don't really want to work."
Terry Smith, 73, described the UK as a 'bloody disgrace' and warned the country is in crisis. He accused Chancellor Rachel Reeves and the government of being 'totally out of their depth' and of breaking manifesto promises by freezing thresholds instead of raising national insurance or income tax. He argued frozen thresholds effectively raise rates for millions and branded the Autumn Budget the worst he's heard, saying it will cost the working class billions. He blamed continued welfare spending and hotel accommodation for migrants, called official explanations a 'smokescreen', and cited shifting black hole figures and repeated tax rises.
