Many in our community, particularly trans people and their families, are filled with anxiety and fear about what a second Trump presidency could bring. The upcoming administration has promised to limit rights that impact our daily lives, which makes it challenging to feel safe and secure. This political climate heightens personal and communal distress as we prepare to potentially combat more restrictions and be active in advocacy efforts to preserve our rights.
We know that the next four years [are] going to be a grind. The work on both policy and personal levels is just beginning. With the alarming rise in anti-trans messaging and the significant funds allocated to it, we are bracing for a relentless fight ahead. This time, local advocates, families, and national organizations are gearing up, understanding the urgency to protect trans rights from new challenges that could emerge.
