Nassau County authorities pursued the vehicle and forced it to crash into the woods, after which Barrios fled on foot before being apprehended. The Players Championship delayed public gate opening until 9am due to operational considerations, though the third round at 8:15am proceeded without delay. Both victims were hospitalized and died from their injuries. Barrios has an extensive criminal history.
