Jonaiki Martinez-Estrella, 31, who participated in the horrific gang murder of 15-year-old Lesandro Guzman-Feliz in 2018, was found dead in a New York prison. His death occurred while serving a 25-years-to-life sentence for his role in the brutal attack. Lesandro's mother, Leandra Feliz, expressed that though his death does not bring back her son, it reflects the harsh realities of gang life. The assault, a case of mistaken identity, shocked the community, while legal proceedings ultimately led to a lesser sentence for Martinez-Estrella, who was originally convicted of first-degree murder.
