Youness Kraouch, 17, was a Pinkerton Academy student who would have entered his senior year. He moved from Morocco to the United States to finish high school and pursue college. He loved soccer, enjoyed lively debates with fellow students, and liked talking about his culture with others. Kraouch was swimming with his family at Hampton Beach when a strong ocean current pulled him away. His father attempted to rescue him and became distressed. First responders pulled both father and son from the water and performed lifesaving efforts. Kraouch was pronounced dead at Exeter Hospital; his father was treated and is in stable condition. His family wants him remembered as a young, beautiful soul and a devout Muslim who loved playing soccer.
