Hyundai and Kia are recalling over 208,000 electric vehicles to fix a problem that can cause a loss of drive power, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect and replace the control unit and a fuse if necessary, while also updating the vehicle's software.
The recall affects more than 145,000 Hyundai and Genesis vehicles, including popular models like the Ioniq 5 and G80, alongside nearly 63,000 Kia EV6 cars.
Owners of affected vehicles will receive notification letters in December and January, urging them to visit a dealer for rectification if their vehicles were previously recalled.
