Kris Boyd went out on Nov. 16 with teammates Irvin Charles and Jamien Sherwood to celebrate a friend's birthday. The group visited Sei Less bar on West 38th Street before 2 a.m., a venue noted for luxury vehicles and an exclusive crowd. About five men outside began insulting the athletes over their clothing, and the verbal spat continued inside and resumed outside. The exchange escalated into a physical altercation, during which two shots were fired and one struck Boyd in the abdomen. The bullet traveled into his lung and lodged in his pulmonary artery. Boyd remains hospitalized but is expected to survive and posted that he is recovering and beginning to breathe on his own.
