Authorities in Lithuania recovered a US military vehicle submerged in a swamp during a training exercise, but the fate of four soldiers on board remains unclear. The Lithuanian Defense Ministry continues to investigate the incident, with military police and US investigators active at the site. The soldiers from 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division went missing during a tactical training near Pabrade, leading to a search operation involving multiple personnel. While the vehicle's recovery has occurred, officials emphasize that further inquiries will be made if necessary.
"After the operation to remove the armored vehicle from the swamp is completed, the Lithuanian Military Police and US investigators are continuing their work at the site," the ministry wrote.
"If the recovery of the vehicle does not provide all the answers, the work will have to continue," she wrote in a Facebook post.
