
"According to a statement of facts filed by police in court, an investigation of the spa was opened in December 2024 after a man died from a cardiac arrest at the spa. "The male was found to be nude, which was unusual under the circumstances," police wrote. One of the employees ran out of the building when the man collapsed, the statement of facts said."
"During an initial investigation, the Westborough Police Department, the Westborough Board of Health, and the Massachusetts Division of Occupational Licensure found that the spa did not have the required permits to give body massages, the statement of facts said. A detective who specializes in prostitution advertisements discovered "numerous online advertisements indicating that sexual services were being offered at Westborough Wellness Spa," said the statement of facts."
Westborough police arrested owner Michael Langille and manager Leir Guo of Westborough Wellness Spa on Feb. 10. They face charges of keeping a house of prostitution, procuring a person to practice prostitution, and deriving support from prostitution. Langille pleaded not guilty at arraignment and was held on $250,000 bail; court records for Guo were not immediately available. Police opened an investigation in December 2024 after a man suffered cardiac arrest and was found nude at the spa; an employee ran out when he collapsed. Investigators found the spa lacked required body-massage permits and located online advertisements offering sexual services; police identified 13 clients.
