Patriotic crystal ball kicks off US's 250th birthday in Times Square
"I'm telling you right now, whatever you're imagining, it's going to be much more than that,"
"It's going to be one for the ages, the most inspirational celebration this country and maybe the world has ever seen."
"in the same beautiful style that Times Square knows how to do it,"
The Times Square ball will be restyled in red, white and blue and will feature during the Coast-to-Coast Countdown to 2026 to launch nationwide semiquincentennial celebrations. America250 will coordinate hundreds of events and programs to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. A second, unprecedented Times Square ball drop is planned for July 3, marking the first non–New Year's ball drop in 120 years. The midnight event will also launch America Gives, a national service initiative aiming to aggregate the largest volunteer hours in U.S. history. A Rose Parade float will display three bald eagles representing past, present and future.
