""It just seems like an act of short-sighted anger when they're not looking at the full picture," Aaron Levine, one of the impacted cyclists, told WHDH."
""If these cyclists or the bike lanes or whatever are getting you mad, you can be mad about it. But you can't put people who would actually get hurt in danger by doing something like this.""
A bicyclist discovered 20 tacks in a tire while riding between Porter and Inman squares on Nov. 13. Other cyclists reported finding tacks in the bike lane on Hampshire Street between Prospect and Tremont streets. Multiple punctures suggest deliberate placement of debris in the lane and create a risk of injury. The act was described as short-sighted anger that endangers people. Cambridge police are aware of the incident and ask any victims to file an incident report at the Cambridge police station or call 617-349-3300. Reported information may help narrow location and timeframe and aid prevention of future instances.
