Sources familiar with the case said 44-year-old Keon Gill, of Middletown, NY, and a 35-year-old man were approached by the suspect, who immediately engaged them in an argument that quickly turned physical. The discovery of a 17-year-old girl found dead by the side of the road near the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds early Friday is being treated as a suspicious death, authorities said. Police responded about 3:30 a.m. and saw the girl on the side of the roadway in the area of L Street between West 18th and West 10th streets, Antioch police Lt. Bill Whitaker said. Officers tried to revive her, but authorities pronounced her dead at the scene.

Police on Staten Island are investigating after a man was killed after apparently being mauled to death by his roommate's dog. Upon arrival, cops discovered the victim, a 59-year-old man, who was unconscious and unresponsive, covered in blood with dog bites across his entire body.
The shooting was reported around 2:50 p.m. Jan. 10 at a business in a strip mall in the 3000 block of Story Road near South White Road, according to a San Jose police news release. An investigation determined that the suspect had a brief interaction with a man inside the store before firing at least one round at him then fleeing in a vehicle, police said. Just after 3 p.m., Fremont Police Officers responded to the "major injury collision" - which happened at the intersection of Cushing Parkway and Northport Loop East - involving a pickup truck and a motorcyclist, according to a press release from Fremont Police. "The motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was transported to a local area hospital," according to the press release. "The driver of the pickup was uninjured and remained on scene."

A 15-month-old baby boy who died under unclear circumstances was found in a bathroom alongside his mother, who had slit her wrists in an apparent suicide attempt inside their Queens home on Monday, cops said. CONCORD Police were looking Monday for multiple people they said were involved in a smash-and-grab robbery Sunday at the Sunvalley Shopping Center. The robbery happened about 11:55 a.m. at what police said was a jewelry store inside the mall. Police in a statement said the suspects used hammers to break the display cases and fled in a waiting vehicle. Police said reports from witnesses of gunfire during the robbery were not accurate. Information was not released regarding how many people police suspect were involved.
