Following two fatal shootings by federal immigration agents, 65% of Americans say ICE has gone too far in enforcing immigration laws, an 11-point rise since last summer. The increase is driven by independents and Democrats, both showing double-digit jumps. Presidential approval for Donald Trump remains low at 39% with 56% disapproving and 51% strongly disapproving, the highest strong-disapproval level Marist has recorded since 2017. Younger voters, Latinos and independents show signs of deserting parts of his voting coalition. Core Republican supporters continue to back Trump on unpopular policies, including immigration enforcement and territorial actions like Greenland.
