Crimes motivated by bias impact far more than a single victim, they harm the sense of safety and unity of our entire community The community of Altadena has endured significant hardship over the past year and acts of hateful vandalism will not be tolerated."

The RIP Renee reference appears to refer to the killing of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis on January 7. The vandalism occurred shortly after the congregation marked the one-year anniversary of the campus's destruction in the Eaton fire. Deputies photographed and collected evidence, and hate-crimes detectives from the major crimes bureau will investigate. PJTC senior rabbi Josh Ratner called the violation of sacred space reprehensible. The Eaton fire killed 19 people and destroyed numerous community sites in Altadena and nearby cities.
