Laura Owens, daughter of Bay Area radio icon Ronn Owens, now faces seven new felony counts alleging she targeted a Scottsdale man with false pregnancy claims after three dates in summer 2021. Investigators say she falsified documents to support the pregnancy claim. Charges include perjury, fraud, forgery, theft by extortion and taking another person’s identity. Owens previously faced separate indictments for alleged false paternity claims against Clayton Echard. Her attorney declined to comment because of a pending criminal trial scheduled for January 2026. Owens previously pleaded not guilty and has maintained innocence regarding prior charges.
