The violent attack in Boulder targeted 'Run for Their Lives,' an organization advocating for the recognition of hostages held by Hamas. The founder, Shany Klein, expressed horror at the firebombing incident which was perpetrated by Mohamed Sabry Soliman. Despite the act of violence, the organization intends to continue its mission. Klein emphasized the apolitical nature of their initiative, which prioritizes safety and human values, and stated they would persevere in their efforts to raise awareness about innocent people in captivity, despite possible decreased participation due to fear.
Our first priority is the safety of our members. And it's not that that we're not worried going forward. But we believe that we have to keep in mind that there are people there, innocent people in captivity.
It's an apolitical initiative and it's very important to emphasize and that we are only walking to be connected and to remember our values as human beings.
