Brian Kurtz will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer of the San Jose Downtown Association in January 2026 after a national search. Kurtz currently serves as founding President and CEO of the Downtown Tulsa Partnership since 2021 and previously led the City of Tulsa's Downtown Coordinating Council. Under his leadership DTP more than doubled its operating budget, strengthened Clean & Safe programs, expanded economic development initiatives, advanced major public-private infrastructure projects, and secured its first city contract. San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan emphasized strong downtown leadership and the need to finalize and execute 2026 planning. Kurtz expressed honor and readiness to collaborate with the board, team, and community partners.
