Dan Sohail, 36, is scheduled to be arraigned on hate crime charges including attempted assault, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and aggravated harassment. Cell phone video shows a black sedan striking the front doors of Chabad Lubavitch World Headquarters at 770 Eastern Parkway while hundreds were praying inside. Surveillance footage allegedly shows Sohail parking blocks away, walking to the building, removing barricades and snow, then driving into the doors. Sohail told officers his foot slipped and blamed clunky boots. Police increased patrols at houses of worship. Sohail had prior encounters with Chabad and was referred to mental health counselors.
